Why We Built
Tip Wedding Vendors

A precision mathematical micro-tool built to end the two greatest financial frustrations of wedding week: double-tipping on contract service charges and scrambling to break $100 bills for cash envelopes.

01 / The Problem

The Wedding Week Bank Run Crisis

Every Friday afternoon before a wedding, thousands of couples walk into a bank branch and withdraw $1,500 to $2,500 in cash. The teller hands them a crisp stack of twenty $100 bills. That night at the rehearsal dinner, panic sets in:

"How do we put $35 into the cake delivery envelope, $75 into each of the 5 band members' envelopes, and $60 into the shuttle driver's envelope when all we have are $100 bills?"

Couples end up making late-night convenience store runs, breaking large bills on random snacks, or worse: handing out lump-sum checks to agency leads who never distribute the cash down to the second photographers or setup crews.

02 / The Financial Trap

The $1,500 Service Charge Confusion

Mainstream wedding blogs on The Knot and Brides publish generic advice telling couples to "tip catering 18% to 20%". But modern catering and venue contracts almost always mandate an 18%–24% administrative service fee.

On a $12,000 food and beverage invoice, couples blindly write an additional $2,400 tip check, completely unaware that a service fee was already billed. In many cases, neither the couple nor the banquet staff wins: the venue keeps the service charge as operating revenue, and the couple drains their emergency fund.

We created the Service Charge Protection Switch to detect these contract line items and automatically convert bloated percentage tips into personal $50–$100 cash bonuses for the banquet captain and bartenders—saving couples $1,000+ while putting direct cash into hourly workers' hands.
